      About us
Robyn Pettigrew

I started dancing at the age of 4.

I completed a three year full time dance training course at the Australian Dance Theatre School/Adelaide Dance Centre.  The course covered a wide range of dance styles including classical ballet, pas de deux, repertoire, contemporary, jazz and character, as well as anatomy and the history of dance.  I performed for five years with the Dance Centre Company - a dance-in-education  group.

I have taught creative movement to primary school students and at the Woodville Special School for students with disabilities. I have taught movement classes for the State Opera and have been a guest teacher at RAD holiday schools.

I am a registered teacher with the RAD.

I opened the Robyn Pettigrew Dance School in 1984.

I am a qualified and registered teacher, and was dance teacher at a high school for four years.  During this time I was on the SSABSA subject advisory committee for Dance, working on the Stage 2 syllabus.

Former students of mine have gone on to study at the Victorian College of the Arts, The Centre of Performing Arts in Adelaide, and the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

I am also a qualified Teacher of the Deaf, teaching students individually and in the classroom.

Rosemary Turner

I started ballet in  Mildura when I was 8, studying the Russian method, Cecchetti and RAD in both the country and the city. I am a registered teacher with the RAD.

In 1975 I established my own school in Clare teaching classical ballet (RAD) to children and adults from 5 years, and jazz/modern to children and  adults. I had 100% pass rate in children's exams from 1978 -88.

After moving to Adelaide at the end of 1988, I freelanced, teaching modern, choreography and jazz ballet.

I joined the staff of Joanna Priest's Studio Arts Centre in 1990 and taught Classical Ballet (RAD) to children from 5 to 18 years and Jazz /modern to children from 10 years, until I left there to join the Robyn Pettigrew Dance School in 2000.

I have been dancing since I was a child.  I have worked and trained with Robyn Pettigrew for many years as an assistant ballet teacher and now as a teacher in my own right.

I am a junior primary classroom teacher and have taught Dance R-7. I was an arts coordinator at an R -12 school for three years.

I really enjoy teaching children, particularly in the area of Dance.
